SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
The cooler that Sapphire has opted for is fantastic; the quality is just great and this really shows when it comes to looking at the core temperature. It's almost the coolest running card we've tested to date which is saying something since it's passive. The HD 5670 ultimately sits in quite a good position. It's performance is a fair bit better than the HD 5570 GDDR5 model, while at the same time the HD 5750 which again performs a good bit faster costs a fair bit more. If you're looking at spending a bit over $100, the HD 5670 continues to be a nice option.

SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
The HD 5670 and HD 5550 Radeon Graphics cards already offer some of the best bang for the buck around and Sapphire’s enhancements to these currently existing models just adds to the value. Both the HD 5670 Ultimate and HD 5550 OC were impressive performers and this can be directly related to the use of GDDR5 on both graphics cards. Now, the reference specifications for the HD 5670 do have the card using GDDR5 memory, so the performance gains by the Ultimate might not be that noticeable over another HD 5670 variant, However, many HD 5550 graphics cards on the market use slower DDR3 memory, hence the reasoning this model came out ahead of the reference HD 5570 in all benchmarks. Additionally, both of these Sapphire cards could overclock incredibly well, which yielded ever better results, putting these cards ahead of the comparison models. Ultimately both of these cards are very well designed and really showcase what the current entry-level ATI graphics cards are capable of. Even though they retail with about a $20 premium over reference based cards it is hard to say they are not worth it.

SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
Sapphire worked its magic on the HD5670 and made the HD5670 Ultimate. With a full gig of GDDR5 ram and their silent fan-less heatsink design it’s both at home in your HTPC or a budget gaming rig. Gaming performance was a major improvement over onboard video and more than enough to play most of today’s popular games.

SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
If you are looking to upgrade the video card in your system, you may just want to check out Sapphire's new budget cards! They were both able to get some pretty impressive numbers for their lower price tag, which is always a win in my book. These cards were only able to be beaten out in a slim picking of the tests performed on them, which is quite impressive in the mainstream market. When it comes to the Sapphire HD 5670 Ultimate, you are going to get a nice boost in performance over you aging card that most likely does not support Microsoft DirectX 11 or Shader Model 5.0. The Sapphire HD 5550 OC does come factory overclocked, which is going to give it more performance than a stock HD 5550 offered by many different manufacturers, but you are even still going to be able to overclock the card a little bit more, which is going to give you the maximum performance for your hard earned money. If you are looking for a cheap upgrade to your system that is going to give you the latest in mainstream DirectX 11 cards, you are going to be looking at getting either an HD 5670 or HD 5550 and Sapphire has a great lineup when it comes to either of these models with their HD 5670 Ultimate and the HD 5550 OC.

SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
After testing the 5670 from Sapphire I will say that if your looking for a good budget gaming card over your stock onboard graphics! Then the 5670 Ultimate from Sapphire is a great upgrade. You can run most games with nice eye candy and still getting a good FPS. With some tweaking you could get some more out of this card. This card would be great for HTPC as well since the passive cooling makes this card silent and keeps the temps fairly cool when in heavy use. We recommended the 5670 to anyone looking for a nice upgrade without breaking the bankIt functions properly, it's easy to install and runs incredibly cool even with a passive cooler. I just wish it had even 10-15% more speed to back up its name.

SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
HTPC Setup anyone? Just a perfect no brainer decision for PCWizKid that the Sapphire HD5670 Ultimate is the perfect candidate for a cool and quiet setup. The Sapphire HD5550 OC Edition also had surprisingly low temperatures and overclocked nicely to give it a little boost, however the HD5550 is meant for for the casual PC Gamer, the HD5670 packed more power and gave a great punch in its frames per second scores when tested with today's latest PC games. PCWizKid was more impressed at the passively cooled HD5670 and would have liked to see what amazing performance you could get with 2 in crossfire connection which not hearing a peep. Temperatures were decent and had we added another cooling fan in the case I'm sure it would have dropped the GPU temperature even further!

GOOD Hardware by Pureoverclock
SAPPHIRE Ultimate HD5670 1GB GDDR5
It is a quiet, low-power card that is a good upgrade option for people with an older system that want to easily improve their graphics performance. In terms of features and functionality, the Sapphire 5670 captures the latest DX11 advanced technology as well as a 40nm process that produces little heat and power consumption. Somewhat surprisingly, the 5670 Ultimate doesn't run particularly hot when under load, posting some respectable temperatures for a passively cooled card. Overall though, Sapphire has released a good card for a select market and it serves its purpose, running silent, power-frugal, and offering some modest gaming capabilities. It is well suited for an HTPC setup, and provided you have some good airflow across the passive heatsink, it can get the job done quite nicely.
