Think about this, the card should be able to stand near the Radeon HD 3870 X2 and that was a pretty expensive card. If you already own a 3800 series card, you're best bet it to wait till the 4870s are out in force before jumping on the 4800 series. Even so, the 4850 has amazing performance with a good price point.
