Sapphire really has hit the nail on the head with the HD 4670 Ultimate in so many ways. All in all, the Sapphire HD 4670 Ultimate is a great card with an awesome amount of potential for those of you who appreciate silence. If Sapphire keeps on making cards like this, they may just win us over one of these days. |  |

The increase in performance was slightly noticeable in daily usage compared to the older HD 4670. We feel that this card is more geared toward the hi-def freaks out there than gaming. Not saying the HD 4670 will not play any of the current because it can easily, but only with some tweaked settings being done to the game options. The noise level should be one of the most important factors for would-be owners of this card. It offers the lowest noise level while using active cooling than any other card on the market. And if you need another reason to implement this card in your next HTPC build look no farther than the back of the card. The HD 4670 has a native HDMI connection. There is no need for adapter or such. The 1080P and the 7.1 channel audio is great. And what is ever greater is the low price point of about $70-$80. | |

No noise, minimal power consumption, and manageable heat output are some of the items that are desirable but sometimes hard to obtain with a card that can perform well. This HD4670 does all of that while offering some decent processing power, DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1 support, a variety of HD audio and video refinements, and of course an integrated HDMI port. Considering the performance as it relates to HTPC applications and the silence that it does it all in, the Sapphire Ultimate Radeon HD4670 earns the Bigbruin.com awards of "Recommended" and "Whisper Quiet". | |

Sapphire has equipped the Ultimate Edition with a VGA port, a single DVI output as well as an HDMI output that also carries the high definition sound to to the display panel of your choosing. What this card is really designed for, is use in an HTPC or silent work station. These are things it excels at, due to the silent cooling solution and high definition video decoding capabilities. | |

With excellent playback performance, onboard HDMI, and fanless operation, I just don't think you can really ask for anything more. As for the gaming end of things, yes the HD4670 is a better gaming card than the HD4550, however I don't think it has quite enough oomph to justify selling this as a "gaming" card. The card will suffice for some light casual gaming, but in reality it is far from being the primary purpose of this card. | |
