1. Then go to Control Panel
2. Select the System Icon
3. Choose the Hardware tab
4. Click on Device manager.
5. Here check out Display Adapters (double click on it to extend the list of adapters available).
- does it say Radeon 'your model' Series?
- does it say Radeon 'your model' Series Secondary?
If so, disable the first one on top by right clicking on it and choosing disable.
Your computer will want to reboot. Let it reboot.
After the computer reboots
1. Go to www.amd.com and download the most recent driver package for your card.
2. Install it.
Once the installation is complete your computer will reboot and the problem should be fixed.
It is posible that you will not remove everything related to ATI and still remain some hidden files somewhere, if the above steps don't work you can consider formating your windows partition, this procedure is also known as Clean Install. (071225) - Question: Driver Remove Process

- Question: When I boot my computer into Windows XP, checked on the Device Manager and I found no secondary/crossfire edition there. I just saw a mere HD3870 and HD3870, no crossfire wording there
Answer: This is normal , device manager only can see 2 HD3870 without saying crossfire mode. (20080103) - Question: Enabled the CrossFire feature under CCC. But the thing is nothing happen. Is there anything goes wrong with my setup?
Answer: This is normal. You need to run 3D testing application or 3D game test to check the performace is higher than only one VGA card. (20080103) - Question: I have 2pcs of HD3650 DDR2 version of VGA cards and want to enable crossfire function in CCC , but the option is grey and cannot to enable , my platform is P35 series MBs , what can I do ?
Answer: Your HD3650 DDR2 version only can run crossfire with software support because the card does not have CrossFire Golden Finger on the top of PCB.
The Intel P35 and Intel 965 series MB do not have Peer to Peer function in hardware design.
So that it cannot support software crossfire function.
So that you cannot see the CF support in CCC is normal behavior.
Now AMD can support software CrossFire when the cards do not have CF golden finger.
But it has a limitation when the MBs do not support Peer to Peer function in hardware. (Like Intel 965 and Intel P35 series).
In your case , if one card has CF connector but the other one hasn’t , these 2 boards would need to go with software crossfire function.
But more detail support list , please help to check here

- Question: I thought HD3870 suppose to be backward compatible with PCIe 1.1 interface and running at x16, x16
Answer: Sure , it sure can support on PCI-E 1.1 MB. (20080103) - Question: I have a query, your product page says that the Radeon HD3850 series has "Hardware processed 1080p video playback of Blu-ray?and HD DVDs" however the spec spreadsheet shows that the maximum HDMI output mode is 1080i. I am confused which is correct, or is it both - as in the card will decode 1080p video but is only able to output 1080i through the HDMI interface
Answer: the "Hardware processed 1080p video playback of HD DVDs and Blu-ray" means that our GPU can support up to 1080p decoder bandwidth.
And the TVOUT and HDMI maximun to 1080i means that the "DISPLAY" mode can support up to 1080i.
These are 2 different things.
If you do not have HDMI 1080i support , just use a CRT monitor or traditional TV to see the HD DVD or Blu-ray DVD , our GPU still can decode 1080p video , and you still can see on the CRT or traditional TV. (071228) - Question: Are components on your graphics board obviously damaged or broken off?
