Radeon R9 390 compete with the GeForce GTX 970, providing a similar or better performance, however, received twice the amount of video memory on the ball. Until recently, 8GB GDDR5 seemed exaggerated value, but recently there are more and more computer games, which is no longer sufficient to 4GB maximum settings (new Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty). I have to admit that the card Sapphire R9 390 NITRO very positively surprised me. A long time I had no contact with the AMD cards, and as you can see, I missed a lot. These products can definitely compete with the proposals from the green and successfully win with them in certain applications. This particular card can not be denied good performance and potential. Sapphire gives us really two possibilities. Or we decide to overclock and a little louder, but still acceptable job or lowering the level of fan speed and we are quiet, but still powerful accelerator. Another issue is the appearance and quality, which stands at the highest level.Practically I can not to anything. By reading this article you must also remember that the shop version of the card is also equipped with a backplate, which in the test version, unfortunately, ran out, and certainly it would contribute to even better visual feedback.

Presented Sapphire Radeon R9 390 Series Nitro. This is an original design using powerful cooling system features three fans.The card is long 30 cm. For herring mounted three connectors DP 1.2a, one HDMI 1.4 and one DVI. To power we will need two PCI-E 8 pin.
The cooling system performs very well in 2D mode the fan is inaudible, and the card has 35 of C. Under load remains relatively low temperature of 67 about C and can be heard clearly, that the fans are working.

Sapphire Radeon R9 390 Nitro is one of the most powerful version of the Radeon R9 390 - we are dealing with cooling Tri-X, which also has a good work culture and is doing quite well with cooling core. Despite the use of powerful cooling manufacturer only symbolically lifted timing - practice performance card so it should not be changed.

Sapphire’s Radeon R9 390 Nitro offers a tremendous value for the money. It operates very quietly and has performance that outpaces the competition. The Tri-X cooler keeps the GPU at a reasonable temperature and having 8GB of memory means you’ll have room for the high resolution textures sure to be found in future games.
With a faster core and memory speed than R9 290 the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 is good for a Silver Bear Award and with a few more bells and whistles we could see a gold award.
The new Sapphire design is a nice improvement as well on most accounts. The new blacked out design is sure to go over better for people trying to pick out a video card to match their build, with all neutral colors it will fit in just about any build without clashing.
I see the points of emphasis that Sapphire addressed. The Nitro R9 390 has a clean design, looks good and isn't gaudy, mixing with nearly any user's build with a flat gun-metal finish. The cooler is robust enough to keep the GPU down at 68C under full gaming load, but does so without raising the cost of the product as a whole. Adding Black Diamond Chokes and 16K capacitors gives us a sense of long-term reliability as well. You get all of this for $329; the same price that AMD has posted for this GPU's MSRP.
This card scored playable frame rates in all of our benchmarks. At 2,560 x 1,600, the NITRO R9 390 scored 48.67fps and 51.7fps in Metro: Last Light and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, respectively, and these are arguably two of the most demanding games currently on the market. If you skipped AMD’s 200-series cards and are looking for something that can handle higher resolutions without costing a small fortune, then the NITRO R9 390 8GB from SAPPHIRE is a solid buy.
