EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) Emulation

EDID is a data structure provided by displays that enables a personal computer to identify the monitors and their display capabilities. The SAPPHIRE GPRO E-Series driver provides the AMD EDID Emulation function tool that reads the EDID data information from connected display devices and saves it to a text or binary file for further usage.

AMD Eyefinity 2.0 Multi-Monitor Technology

Video Codec Engine (VCE)

VCE is AMD’s dedicated fixed-function H.264/AVC video coding engine. AMD UVD (Unified Video Decoder)

  • GPRO E8870 commercial graphics series is designed with Mini DisplayPort output connectivity. For optimal connectivity for solutions with 4 or more displays, we recommend using DisplayPort connectivity and not using any dongles for signal transfer
  • GPRO E8870 commercial graphics series use 3 passive dongles to connect displays. To connect 4 or more displays, either DisplayPort or active dongles are required to drive all the displays. Active dongles are Mini DisplayPort to DVI/HDMI.
  • If dongles must be used for maximum displays connection, such as Mini DisplayPort to DVI/HDMI , please following connection requirements GPRO E8870 Commercial Graphics Series: 3 passive dongles + 3 active connections (Active connections can be direct DisplayPort or active dongles)
